Colegio​ Sorjuana Ines Dela Cruz Is a school located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The school was established in 1997 by a couple: Guillermo (William) Martin and Esperanza (Hope) Martin. Both Esperanza and Guillermo came from humble beginnings in the outscores of the City of Guadalajara, Mexico. These humble beginnings, full of sacrifices and struggles, is the motivation behind the creation of the William and Hope Foundation. Before moving their family to the United States in search of a better life, this amazing couple built Colegio Sorjuana Ines Dela Cruz to ensure that other children from similar circumstances could have opportunities that were never afforded to them.

In 2016, after operating for 20 years, the school nearly closed all operations forever. The institution had struggled financially for many years despite the fact that the William and Hope Foundation had been financing the cash shortages over those years of struggle. After careful consideration, William and Hope made the decision not to shut down the school. They could not imagine destroying the lives of the 25 children and the 6 staff members of the school. After careful consideration and prayer, it became clear that closing was not an option. Despite the struggles and uncertainty, William and Hope made the drastic decision to move back to Mexico and devote their time, effort, and energy to Colegio Sorjuana Ines Dela Cruz.

Confused but inspired by their decision, their son, Edgar Martin, jumped in to support his parents. It is through persistent hard work and dedication that their son Edgar was able to understand why his parents had made that decision. William and Hope have lived their entire lives under the basic fundamentals of core principles. They always live their life under the belief of give before you get, leadership is to inspire others, and people teaching people. This is ultimately because teaching is giving!
